Ghulam Sarwar Khan

Ghulam Sarwar Khan is a Pakistani politician who has been actively involved in the country's political landscape. Born on March 31, 1955, in the Taxila, Punjab, Pakistan, he is a prominent figure in Pakistani politics with a career that spans several decades.

Early Political Career

Ghulam Sarwar Khan was member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab four times from 1988 to 1996 and provincial minister from 1993 to 1996. He started his career as part of PPP. He failed to win a seat for National Assembly on multiple occasions at the start.
However his political rise began when he was elected to the National Assembly as an independent candidate in the 2002 general elections and was appointed as the Federal Minister in 2004 by the government of Shaukat Aziz.
He joined PMLQ and ran for the seat of NA in 2008 general elections but was unsuccessful.

Turning Point

Ghulam Sarwar Khan later switched his political allegiance to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), a party led by Imran Khan, and contested the 2013 general elections as a PTI candidate and secured his seat. He again won a seat of the National Assembly in 2018 and was appointed as the Federal Minister for Aviation in the PTI-led government.
